Description
Zanzibar from the boat. Shows shipping in the harbor and city. Zanzibar stands up 30 to 50 ft. above the water and appears to be a great cocoanut plantation. Rather beautiful white houses stand out sharply here and there, and the island 16 miles out seems to have few palms. [Shantz travel journal, Apr. 3, 1920]
